S GROUP:

Jathar Agni: digestive fire. It maintains and supports all the other Agni in the body, is the main heat source

Panchabhuta Agni: five principles of transformation localized mainly in the liver

Saptadathu Agni: in the process of tissue formation and transformation, every step is characterized by specific “Dathu Agni” that can extract from every tissue the elements for the formation of the next one. Totally they are seven, one for each tissue.

THE FACTORS WHICH DISTURB AGNI

-  fast
-  excess of food
-  eat before the digestion of the precedent meal

THE SYMPTOMS OF AGNI’S BAD FUNCTIONING ARE:

Malaise, headache, fainting fit, diarrhoea, constipation, bitter taste in mouth, dizziness, back rigidity, yawns, body ache, thirst, fever, vomiting, colic.
If Agni is damaged the digestive disturb, which is the result, bears Ama formation, a substance produced by the putrefaction of swallowed food that  after having  accumulated in the digestive stretch, penetrates in the blood and capillary vessels.
If it is not removed, can alternate and produces toxic substances which can reach every place of the weaker organs.

WHEN AMA COMBINES WITH THE DOSHA IT CAUSES:

PITTA: Burning sensation, thirst, mouth troubles, other Pitta troubles.

KAPHA: Emaciation, cold, diabetes, Kapha troubles.

VATA: Urinary, abdominal troubles, other Vata troubles.
