THE BEAUTY FROM INSIDE TO OUTSIDE

How one can do to him/herself an Ayurvedic massage

The daily Ayurvedic massage, called in Sanskrit “abhyanga”,  is one of the most important  personal hygiene measures for the well-being maintenance. In accordance with Ayurvedic tradition, the massage has a soothing effect on the nervous and endocrine system. Moreover, it improves circulation, removes toxins, increases the flexibility of muscles, tissues and joints, softens and gives lustre to the skin.

Choose one of massage oil Vata, Pitta or Kapha.

To effect the massage, warm up the oil at a temperature slightly superior to the corporeal one.
Use the palms of the hands and not the fingers. Pour a little oil in the hand and massage the head intensely. Then kindly, apply the oil on the face and massage also behind the ears, behind and in front of neck and on the backbone superior part. Therefore, apply a little oil on the whole body and massage every part quickly, starting from arms, hands and fingers with straight movements on the  long bones and  circular movements on the  articulations. Massage kindly in a circular way on the hearth and circularly in a time direction on the abdomen. Massage the lower part of the back and the backbone, then the legs. Then, massage the feet. After few minutes take a bath or a shower using small quantities of soap and shampoo.
