RASA (PLASMA)

RAKTA
(ERITROCITES, HAEMOGLOBIN)
|
|

MEDA
(ADIPOSE TISSUE) |
The more dense tissues of the body act as raw material
for the formation of the more thin ones.
The Dathu represent the action field of the Dosha. If the Dosha are
out of equilibrium, they will damage the Dathu, causing the arising of
disorders of various kind. The first product of food is RASA.
From Rasa all the Dathu arise. Along this way the substance are
concentrated until to obtain the last product of metabolism, an
indispensable substance for the individual’s well-being and life is
OJAS. |

MAJIA
(BONE MARROW) |
|
When the body’s tissues are intact and their functionality is
excellent, then a substance called Ojas is produced constantly in the
body starting from the swallowed nourishing. The term Ojas means “What
gives Lustre”. Ojas is a vital principle which creates life, it gives
energy, it is the human being essence. |
|
Thanks to Ojas, Mamsa (muscle tissue) becomes full, all the movements
are co-ordinated, voice becomes
clear and
skin - bright, and the activity of
sense and action organs reaches a full state of well-being.
Ojas is:
Snigda (greasy), Shuka (white), Shita (fresh),
Sthira (stable), Sara (flowing), Vivikta (pure),
Miridu
(soft), Mritsna (cohesive). The reduction of
Ojas causes a state of malaise. Ojas is fostered by taking on milk,
ghee (clearified butter), saffron and some herbs such as Withania
Somnifera, Asparagus Racemosus, ect. Instead, it is reduced by
anxiety, worries, anger, hunger, excessive
efforts, insufficient rest, abuse of smoking and alcohol, consumption
of unfresh and preservative food. These factors damage the
trasformation cycle of Dathu reducing Ojas. Ojas is reduced also by
the age.
